Walking the Dogs

Every morning when we wake up, Ainsley and I walk the dogs before it gets too hot outside. The dogs names are Donk and Daisy. The dogs look forward to our walk every morning. This week I started sitting Ainsley in the front of the stroller so that she could see better. Before this week, she was so small that I would attach her car seat to the stroller. She seems to enjoy being able to see better and play with her new stroller toy. People always ask me what the dogs think about Ainsley. They really don't pay any attention to her. Daisy may sniff her or lick her but other than that they act like she isn't there. As long as they get their walk and treat they are happy. I started walking Ainsley about 3 or 4 days after she was born. I have a picture of our first walk, but I think it is on my mom's camera. Before she was born, I walked every evening after work. I actually went into labor when I was walking the night of March 31.

Dinner and Game Night

One night a week in the summer time, Josh, Ainsley and I rotate houses with a group of teacher friends for dinner and game night. This week we had a taco dinner at Barbara's house with Tonya, Harry and Stephanie. After dinner, we play a game which usually ends up being catch phrase. Ainsley enjoys going too because she gets the attention of several adults. I am so lucky to have a group of friends that enjoy Ainsley as much as I do. During game night, she is usually passed around and held by everyone there. Josh and I have been trying to get Ainsley on a sleep schedule which includes her going to bed around 7:30 or 8:00. So, I dressed Ainsley in her pajamas thinking that I would just put her in the other room with a monitor. As you can see in the videos, the sleeping only lasted about 30 minutes while we were eating dinner. I think next week that Ainsley may spend the night with Grandma and Grandpa because we discussed going to Midnight Rodeo for dancing.

Taco dinner - yes - everyone is making fun of me

Catch Phrase game - my team won!!!

Road Trip to Jackie's Wedding

On July 12, we drove to Arlington for Jackie's wedding. Jackie is Josh's cousin. We stayed in a hotel for the first time with Ainsley. We had a lot of fun. Josh and I found out that it no longer takes a few minutes to pack our stuff - with Ainsley it takes much longer.

The Reception

There were 3 new babies at the wedding. Two of Josh's cousins also had babies this year. Baby Hazel was born the last week in May and Baby Catherine was born the last week in November. We all sat in the backrow at the wedding.

4 Month Check Up

Josh and I took Ainsley to the pediatrician yesterday for her 4 month well exam. She weighed 12 pounds and 13 ounces (25%), her length was 23.5 inches (25%) and her head size was 16 inches (50%). So, she has a big head!:) We discussed several new things with the doctor. One of the things we discussed is Ainsley sleeping in her crib in her room. Last night we tried it out and she did great! She only woke up once for a feeding. So - no more sleeping in our room in the cradle. We also discussed starting solids. Josh put the high chair together today. We plan on going by the grocery store and getting some rice cereal for her first solid food - stay tuned to see that.

YMCA Swimming Pool

In New Braunfels, we noticed how much Ainsley really likes the swimming pool. So, for the past couple of nights, we have started taking Ainsley to the swimming pool at the YMCA. She really enjoys the water and her Daddy enjoys playing with her. I think we will continue to take her to the pool each evening.

New Braunfels Vacation

We spent the week in New Braunfels with the Clark family. Every July for one week we always look forward to hanging out with our family at Heildelberg Lodges. During the day we swim in the pool and river and at night we Bar-B-Que and play games. We had so much fun. My cousins, Ashley and Andrew and Jennifer and Alan also have new babies. K.P. was born in March and it is amazing what one months difference in age makes between him and Ainsley. Georgia was born in October and already crawling. Here are some videos and pictures of our week.
