Soccer

Yes - I am playing soccer. I have decided to try to get back into shape and the best way to do that is to play a competitive sport. I love competition. I joined a co-ed adult Austin league. Tonya's roommate, Mitze, is on the team so she convinced me to play. So far, it has been a lot of fun. I am not any good, but hopefully I will improve with practice. We won my first game 6-0. We practice on Wednesday nights and have games on Saturdays.

Josh's New Truck

We bought a new truck this weekend. It is a 2007 Dodge Ram. Josh's old truck kept breaking down and had over 210,000 miles on it, so we decided it was time for a new truck. Josh loves it! It is a great truck for our family and I think we will enjoy it over the years.

Lindsay & TJ's Wedding

Last weekend, we traveled to Abilene to attend Lindsay and TJ's wedding. We stayed with good friends of ours - Shane and Corrie. While we were at the wedding, Shane and Corrie babysat Ainsley. I heard they had a blast spending time together. I know that Josh and I enjoyed seeing them.

The wedding was beautiful. The only problem was that it was an outside wedding and the temperature was like 55 degrees. So - we were all a little cold. The reception was very nice. There was bar-b-que, country music and ice cream for desert. I thought it was pretty cool - instead of having a wedding cake, they had cold stone ice cream.

We sure did enjoy our weekend!

Pumpkin Patch

Today Josh, Tonya and I took Ainsley to the pumpkin patch. As you can tell, we had a lot of fun taking pictures of her.

18 Months Old

Ainsley turned 18 months old on October 1. She is now offically 1 and 1/2 years old. It is hard to believe. She is starting to talk more and more. Her first word was "this." Out of all the words she chooses this. Now she knows about 10 words.

We went to the pediatrican this week. She weighs 20 pounds and 10 ounces (5%), her length is 29 3/4 inches (10%) and her head size is 18 1/4 inches (50 %). She is wearing size 12 months. So she is short, skinny and has a big head.

Time Out

Ainsley has been testing her limits lately. She has been getting in more trouble than usual. Josh and I have been trying to figure out the best way to deal with her behavior problems. Today, we tried time out again. Our pediatrician said that Ainsley should sit in time out for 1 1/2 mintes because of her age. It is a minute per year. Ainsley usually sits in the corner and cries the whole time. So far, I think it is working well. I will keep you updated.

Reading with Daddy

Over the last few months, Ainsley has become very interested in books. When I was pregnant, I had a book baby shower. So now, Ainsley has many books. She is always bringing them to us to read to her. She has a few books that are baby's first words. She enjoys those the most and she is able to point to some of the pictures and say the words. I believe that reading to children is important.
